Challenges
- In many ways, Croatia is a “gateway to the EU,” which means there is a large number of refugees in Zagreb. With so many people in transition, we strive to not only be a place of stability, but of hope and a sense of belonging.
- While ministry to refugees is growing rapidly, native Croatian faith tends to be more a matter of culture and nationality than a belief that God matters in our day-to-day lives.
- Please pray for the many Croatians who feel they need to leave their nation to find employment and life resources elsewhere.
- Ask God to help Croatian asylum seekers be successful, as they go through the hardships of social integration.
- Please pray for Christian churches in Croatia to be united in their faith and mission, especially while they are working to meet the needs of poor and discouraged people.
- Pray for adequate worship space to be found that would allow ministries to expand.

The Nazarene Church in Zagreb is part of the Central European Field, which is within the Eurasia Region. Currently, the primary ministry is to refugees from various parts of the Middle East and Ukraine, but they’re also working on finding ways to help support local students, who are in desperate need of after-school support while their parents are at work. If you’re interested in more information on these needs, or if you’d like to help in some way, please contact me.
